Cooking steps

Toast the Tortilla Picks

  • Preheat your oven to 220°C/200°C fan/gas mark 7.
  • Cut half the tortillas into small triangles (to resemble guitar picks). Place on a lined baking tray.
  • Toss with salt, pepper and a drizzle of oil. Arrange in a single layer (use two trays if necessary).
  • Bake in the oven until crispy and golden, 6-8 mins.

Prep the Veg

  • Meanwhile, peel and grate the garlic (or use a garlic press).
  • Chop the tomatoes into small chunks. 
  • Halve, peel and chop the onion into small pieces.
  • Quarter the lime. Halve and deseed the chilli. Finely chop.
  • Slice the avocado lengthways and remove the pit. Scoop the flesh out into a bowl.
Assemble and Serve

  • Mash the avocado then add the onion, tomatoes, garlic and chilli (use less if you don't like spice). 
  • Season to taste with salt, pepper and lime juice.
  • Serve the tortilla 'picks' and any remaining lime wedges alongside.
