Cooking Steps

Get Prepped

  • Preheat your oven to 220°C/200°C fan/gas mark 7. 
  • Peel and grate the garlic (or use a garlic press).
  • Trim the salad leaves then chop or tear into bite-sized pieces.
  • Trim the cucumber then quarter lengthways. Chop widthways into small pieces.
Bake the Croutons

  • Tear the ciabattas into roughly 2cm chunks.
  • Pop onto a lined baking tray then toss with the garlic, a generous drizzle of oil and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  • Bake in the oven until crispy and golden brown, 8-10 mins.
Fry the Beef

  • Thinly slice the beef widthways season with garlic herbs.
  • Place a large pan over high heat with a drizzle of oil.
  • Once the pan is very hot, sear the beef strips until cooked through, shifting as they colour, 2-3 mins. IMPORTANT: Wash hands and equipment after handling raw meat and its packaging. Meat is safe to eat when the outside is browned.
  • Remove once cooked.
Make the Dressing

  • In a large bowl mix the aoili, half the cheese, cracked black pepper and a drizzle of oil. 
  • Season to taste with salt and pepper. Loosen with a splash of water if preferred.
Finishing Touches

  • Add the salad leaves, cucumber, and garlic croutons to the bowl with the dressing.
  • Toss until fully combined then season to taste with salt and pepper
Divide and Serve

  • Divide the Caesar salad between plates.
  • Top with the pan-fried beef.
  • Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top.
