Cooking steps

Get Prepped
1
  • Peel and grate the garlic (or use a garlic press).
  • Quarter the lemon.
  • Drain and rinse the chickpeas in a sieve.
Blend the Hummus
2
  • In a blender, puree half the garlic, tahini, chickpeas, 1 tbsp oil (per 2P), 75ml water (per 2P) and ½ tsp salt (per 2P) until smooth.
  • Add salt, pepper and lemon juice to taste.

TIP: Add a splash of water to loosen the hummus if necessary.

Chop the Veg
3
  • Trim the green beans.
  • Trim the carrot, then halve lengthways (no need to peel). Chop into roughly 1cm wide, 5cm long batons.
Fry the Chicken
4
  • Place a on top of the chicken and slice through horizontally to make thin steaks.
  • Place a large pan over medium-high heat with a drizzle of oil.
  • Add the chicken and season with salt and pepper. Cook through, 3-6 mins each side. IMPORTANT: Wash your hands and equipment after handling raw chicken and its packaging. Chicken is cooked when no longer pink in the middle.

TIP: Notice a stronger smell from your chicken? Don’t worry, this is normal due to packaging we use to keep it fresh.

Char the Veg
5
  • Return the pan to high heat with a drizzle of oil.
  • Add the carrot and green beans and fry for 5-6 mins.
  • Season with remaining garlic, salt and pepper. Add a splash of water, cover and cook until tender, 2-3 mins.
Dish Up
6
  • Arrange the chicken between plates alongside the charred veg and your beautiful hummus.
  • Serve any remaining lemon wedges on the side.
