Cooking steps

Get Prepped
1
  • Halve, peel and chop the onion into small pieces.
  • Peel and grate the garlic and ginger.
  • Trim the carrot, then slice into 1cm rounds (no need to peel).
  • Trim the green beans, then cut into thirds.
Boil the Noodles
2
  • Boil a large pot of salted water for the egg noodles.
  • When the water is boiling, add the noodles and cook until softened, 4-6 mins.
  • Drain in a sieve then return to the pot with a splash of oil and toss to prevent sticking.

TIP: If you’re in a hurry you can boil the water in your kettle.

Fry the Prawns
3
  • Place a large pan over medium-high heat with a drizzle of oil.
  • Once hot, add carrot, onion and green beans and season with salt and pepper. Fry until starting to char, 6-8 mins.
  • Add the prawns, ginger and garlic for the last 4-5 mins. IMPORTANT: Wash your hands and equipment after handling raw prawns. Prawns are cooked when pink on the outside and opaque in the middle.
  • Add the noodles to the pan with the ketjap manis, soy sauce and sweet Asian sauce and toss to coat.
Finish and Serve
4
  • Divide the noodles between bowls.
  • Scatter the crispy onions over the top.
